Northern Virginia Family Photographers | Why Choose a Studio Session

The biggest question I am always asked when someone books a session for the winter months is “What happens if it is too cold outside?”  For me the answer is simple.  Two years after I started photography I rented a studio with a colleague.  While this was an amazing way to bring sessions indoors, it wasn’t the best use of my resources and time.  When my husband and I decided to move, one of the most important features of a new home (for me) was a studio.  I wanted a place in the house that was dedicated to just my photography.  I could have everything set up my way and close the doors when it wasn’t in use. It was cost effective and a simple way to build my business my way.  About a year into shooting in my in-home studio (once my new neighborhood was fully finished) I realized what a true gem of a space we have both inside AND outside.  I tell a lot of my clients who are worried about the weather, let’s meet at the studio, we can do inside and outside shots or we can just do outside and come inside to warm it.  In my opinion, its a win-win!
