It’s been a while as I have been crazy busy with shoots, getting the kids back in school, sports schedules, and just life in general. But as I sit here and edit the sessions I am doing, I am struck by how important it is to capture the details.

So many little details get lost with time. As a mom to three kids, I know this to be very true. When my kiddos were tiny babies all I wanted was sleep, five minutes to take a shower and adult conversation. It wasn’t until my third and final kiddo that I realized how much I would miss and the details. Not just at the newborn stage, but every stage. We want to remember their tiny noses, cute stubby feet, longer fingers and little round bellies. When they get a little older it is the color of their hair, their tiny teeth, the leg rolls that quickly fade in to long lean legs. As the saying goes, you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone”. The same holds true in this case.

Hiring an experienced and trained photographer at any stage of life is what this is for. As a newborn and child photographer, I make sure I capture tiny feet, eye lashes, pouty lips and tiny ears. When they are sitters, I know that those roll legs, chubby hands, and rosy cheeks are what you remember. As they toddle around experiencing life, I make sure I capture their all their hand gestures, the way the look for their belly, eyes, ears and noses. All of the things you want to remember, I want you to remember.
